Sculpture 2010, with tutors Sukey Erland and Ben Erland at The Malthouse, Totterdown Lane, Pilton, Somerset
Modelling a portrait, a figure study or an animal study (dogs, chickens or a duck)
Course 1: Monday 3rd to Friday 7th May, 2010
Course 2: Monday 5th to Friday 9th July, 2010
Course 3: Monday 4th to Friday 8th October, 2010
A model will be posing throughout each day on both courses
Hours will be from 10am to 1pm and 2.15pm to 4.15pm
Instruction and help will be given in making a simple armature to support the modelling material (in most cases clay). Firing and materials will be provided at cost.
Students will be encouraged to observe accurately and to realise the sculptural qualities and potential of the model. They will learn how to prepare their finished work for firing in a kiln or casting in bronze resin. Both processes can be carried out later at the Malthouse by arrangement with Ben and Sukey.
Students of all levels are welcome: complete beginners as well as advanced modellers. Lunches available in the Crown Inn opposite, or bring your own. Free tea and coffee in the studio.
Courses are priced at £240 per person per course, with a £50 deposit payable on booking. Cancellations: Four weeks notice must be given for a refund of deposit.
